What is the Amazon AWD warehouse? Replenishment tutorial Step by Step

What is AWD

AWD is the abbreviation of Amazon Warehousing & Distribution and is one of the projects of Amazon Supply Chain. The main function is for inventory and replenishment, and does not have any function of directly shipping to sellers.

What is the difference between AWD and FBA?

The focus of AWD is on inventory, and it does only have the function of inventory, while FBA can inventory and ship, so why is AWD needed?

Because FBA inventory costs are relatively expensive, please see the picture below

In addition, FBA has inventory restrictions, which means it will limit how much goods you can put in the warehouse. However, once it hits the peak season, it will become very dangerous. Once the goods are sold out, there will be no time to replenish the goods. This is a problem. It is easy for keyword rankings to plummet due to out-of-stock items, and sales cannot be brought back afterwards.

Therefore, placing goods in AWD is a relatively good choice. In addition to not having to worry about being late for replenishment, you can also save a placement fee and warehousing allocation fee.

Therefore, many sellers are now configured to put necessary sales inventory in FBA and a large amount of replenishment inventory in AWD.
